Lead level in mallard (Anas platyrhynchos)

The study was carried out on a hunting ground belonging to AJVPS Arad, county Arad. Lead (Pb) was determined in Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos) tissues (muscles) and organs (liver, kidneys) to see the contamination level of this tissues and organs and also the impact on humans health because in our days more and more wild game meat take a increasing percentage in humans food ratio. The Mallard is one of the most widespread duck species. Mallard has 50-62 cm length, 800-1400 g weight and lives about 11 years. It prefers rivers and shallow pounds with a lot of reed. It is a migratory species that is flying long distances to find food and unfrozen water, so it is a exposed to lead contamination that is under dust form in atmosphere. But another reason why lead level in Mallard can be higher that in other flying specie (pheasant, woodcock, quail, and pigeons) are the lead shot shells that are used for duck hunting. It is known that the ducks can ingest these lead shot shells and so they are often exposed to lead intoxications. This is why in our days more ammunition for waterfowl are steel made or different type of alloys. Lead is known to be one of the most common pollutants with a large range of effects on human health: lead affects nervous system, digestive tract, kidneys, bones, enzymes. Lead has also mutagenic effect, carcinogenic effect, teratogenic effect.

The Analytical method (HPLC) used for identification, assay of triclabendazole, related substances and preservatives used in finished product Tricladem 5, in SC Delos Impex 96 SRL

Because, triclabendazole is an active pharmaceutical ingredient without compendial monography (European Pharmacopoeia, United Stated Pharmacopoeia)  in SC Delos Impex ’96 SRL, the API identification, assay, related substances, and, preservatives, assay and identification  is efectuated used the method presented below.  Presented original method permit, all these determination in a relative short time  (the chromatogram time recorded  is 25 min.).

Introducing of the methods of pollutants detecting and species used as experiment organisms in testing laboratories

Zebrafish are vertebrate animals often used in research for wastewaters, environment chemicals, cancer and diabetes drugs due to their speed and ease for handling and obtaining test results. Organisms capacity to detect and avoid contaminated soils reveals soils stressor potential and has an ecological relevance indepted with its direct relationship to soil biodiversity and it’s quality as a habitat for the organism. Soil pollution tests were accomplished on arthropods (Collembola), earthworms, oligochaete worms (Enchytraeidae), this being behavior modification tests, observing which species avoids contaminated soils and if response intensity depends on contamination degree. Using Daphnia sp. for testing it’s possible because of their sensibility to an amount of aquatic pollutants and also for their small sizes involving a use of small volumes of test substance and water for dilution.

Use of antibiotics and about quinolones in veterinary therapy

In Romania are being done extensively efforts in the veterinarians education to emphasize the importance and the European regulations familiar behavior, relating to veterinary drugs prescribing, the issues of residues, of antibacterial resistance and of judicious use of the veterinary conditionigs. In this respect, the present synthesis presents an overview, a useful and necessary bibliographical remembrance to veterinary practitioner about antibiotics and quinolones in particular. Are summarized: bacterial antagonism, methods for studying the effectiveness of antibiotics, the mode of action of antibiotics, the phenomenon of resistance to antibiotics and toxic secondary phenomena caused by antibiotics, continued by information about quinolone-carbonic acid derivatives (quinolones) them action mechanism, classification and presentation of the main representatives, indications and contraindications, etc. Referate is conceived in two parts about antibiotics and about quinolones.

Word editor – 2012, Year of Crossroads

În cei șase ani de când Revista noastră este editată în continuu, evoluția ei a fost mereu ascendentă începând cu formarea unui colectiv editorial de elită, de la selectarea celor mai interesante topice pentru practica și cercetarea domeniului și până la intrarea în competiția evaluărilor pentru recenzarea în Bazele de Date Internaționale. Din păcate, nici faptul că suntem deja indexați în trei BDI (IndexCopernicus, DOAJ și Academic Journals), că am primit invitația de a trimite materialele jurnalului spre publicare în EBSCO Publishing sau că avem abonamente realizate în 2012 fiind recunoscuți de către Colegiul Medicilor Veterinari din Romania, nu ne-a scutit de criza de resurse care cuprinde toate domeniile.
